I wrote a blog not too long ago about the eventual obsolescence of government due to the mass communication ability we now have as a result of the Internet. People can coordinate now on scales never before imagined, and every day we are seeing more and more people wake up and realize how the world is truly being run. And it ain’t pretty.
Mysteriously, that blog post was removed. Perhaps someone was offended and reported it – who knows. But thankfully we live in a free country, so I still intend to write what I think.
Back to the point at hand. As I read blogs, scan social media, and watch movies/television, it seems as if America is going through a modern version of the Enlightenment. Every day there is more content out there that condemns the corrupt activities and transactions of our ruling class, some of which even end up culminating in tangible consequences. Take the Panama Papers, for example. This is a hot topic as of late, but if you haven’t heard of them, I strongly suggest you do some googling and read up on it. They’re causing quite a ripple among the elites.
All in all, what we’re experiencing right now is historical, and I hope people understand the significance of the times were living in. The Internet has finally given the common folk a voice, and the centuries old net of social control is slowly deteriorating. It just goes to show that real change and revolution doesn’t necessarily have to be brought about with violence and bloodshed. Maybe society is finally growing up after all.
