Imagining vs. Experiencing

“The ability to convert ideas to things is the secret to outward success.”

– Henry Ward Beecher

The quote you just read is something that I’ve always tried to remind myself. The more and more I think about wanting to be successful, the harder it seems to get.

I think we all fall victim to this frame of mind occasionally. Realistically speaking, we all have dreams, goals, and aspirations – things that we want to have happen, but we see them as unattainable. This may be due to a variety of factors – difficulty, work required, obstacles, barriers, what have you. Whatever the case, we look at things from a perspective where we have to overcome things in order to achieve these goals – which leads us to use those obstacles as excuses for why we aren’t accomplishing our dreams.

What if it were far more simple than that? What if making your dreams come true was as simple as implementing the thoughts you have in your head?

If you have an idea for a business, what’s stopping you from starting it? If you think you could develop the next big app, why not give it a shot? At the end of the day, even if you don’t succeed – the people who genuinely care for you will still be by your side, supporting you the whole way. You just dust yourself off and move on to the next idea.

Look. I really, really, enjoy when people are happy. I absolutely love the feel good sensation when I see good things happen to others. So I wanted to write this because I want people to understand how simple it is to convert ideas to things. Just do it.

As for me, I have absolutely no idea what my future holds. All I know is that every single day I dream about becoming the world class writer Mom told me I could be, and I’m trying my damnedest to make that become a reality.

If you want something, go get it. Everyone on this planet is the exact same: human. There’s absolutely no reason why you can’t be as successful as anyone else. We’re all equals here, after all.

Turn your imagination into your experience.
