Hindsight

Come and help me hang this mast

I’m moving out this house of glass

I’m setting sail, here hold this nail

To hammer out all my past

No one is the someone that they knew themselves as yesterday

People know that people grow and change the things they used to say

Life is learned and station’s earned that’s how it works alright, okay?

Don’t complain when in the rain if reputation’s turned, okay?

You may not know you’re on your own but that’s the way it works today

Don’t blame me if you can’t see things further than the weekend now

That’s on you, you know its true, don’t raise that perfect paint eyebrow

I’m done with this, here’s a kiss, tell me more how you’re my friend

Always hated hindsight cause I know how all the stories end
