I drove in thought, as tend I do
On whim, I paused as I passed through
Pulled aside and spent the day
Atop the bluffs, where my dog played
And though he is not with me now
I felt him there, some way, somehow
The moss, a feel of fur it had
The breeze, sound kissed by that tail wag
He lives amongst these words of mine
The mem’rys, always near in mind
Donning rhythms of the day
The rhymes of dusk, they fade away
Ne’er neglect the ones we need
With them, spend thought – but also deed
For life, it’s cold from time to time
Cherish its warmth. With all, be kind.
