Aftermath

There is no clearer smoke and mirror

Than the haze of government

It does not matter what’s your stature

Practice pilgrimage or lent

The world should not be dictated by those who wish you in a trance

Nor should you beholden to a politician’s circumstance

It is so clear

Our Lords, austere

Are nothing more than you or I

Our history has proven this

Through men and women who have died

Died for causes they believed

Living life like it should be

Never giving in to those

Who falsely claim that they are free

Liberty is everything

Choosing choice above all else

Deciding paths to walk and tread

Power should lie in yourself

There is no reason in this season

To continue status quo

You have the tools to make them fools

And craft things as you see, you know

Laws are written, that’s right now

Argued and thrown to the floor

Just imagine if they weren’t

And instead on every door

There existed your own list that

Let you see a bill and vote

You’d decide what things to try

And what is body, shirt, or coat

Charles Darwin wasn’t wrong

When pondering if things evolved

And governing is naught to differ

‘Tis a problem to be solved

For Founding Fathers would be bothered

By creations of today

Liberty and Land of Free

Were what was wanted, by all they

It is the truth, though so obtuse

That we’ve become what we escaped

And tyranny will set men free

Reforging that which they had shaped

You’re my brother, and my mother

Sister and everything else

Sharing love amongst each other

Hidden, in the back of shelf

Now’s the time to trust the rhyme

To battle and to forge a path

For victory is all we see

In embers, of the aftermath
