Wish
I wish I may
I wish I might
I wish to get through one more night
———-
To fight through pain
This midnight rain
These tears that pour down with it now
Let me hold on
Thoughts, please begone
I try but fear I don’t know how
The hurt, it rests inside my chest, a heart that’s heat could solder iron
Burns within with every sin and all their metaphoric fire
I beg release
A soothing peace
Things which only live in dream
Hope, bare to me
A Winter’s tree
Thirsting for just one small stream
The hollowed wood is truth, you see
It lies there in melancholy
Dead, or dying, all alone
Drifting into dark unknown
———-
I wish I may
I wish I might
Please grant me strength to live, tonight
